Wise business move or selling your soul. What do people think?

I was solicited, but I decided it was not worth the extra cash.

    I got good money.

But you just can't remember a person by their Avatar any more.

I had to seach for my owen posts, Just could not get to them that easy.

Kind of every one has the same avatar.

Not sure, but the money is good.

    Thanks

If people are willing to pay for it, why not?

The only reason I'm posting again is because someone PM'd me asking to buy my avatar. I hadn't been on DP for about half a year. It's not loads of money, but it'll buy me a pizza and I don't need it for anything else, so it's all good.

Same here. I just don't think it's a wise business move for yourself to appear that you're "for sale". Besides, if you use the same avatar elsewhere, it's a part of your branding... you shouldn't sacrifice that.

I have been flipping around, experimenting with different avatars...mostly Christmas themed right now. Still, it is harder and harder to distinguish who is who here with all of the "Site Sift" avatars.

I won't sell my avatar space even if offered a good price for it.

don't give a darn here too...not buying or selling much, doesn't have any reputation, and this avatar looks better than my face...
and if people think i 've lost my soul by selling my avatar, they are right and think whatever you want to think

If I was solicited, I would probably "sell my soul" as well.

I don't care, people are free to sell it if they want and if they can earn extra cash, it's fine for them and for the one who gain visibility with this great marketing idea.
I've been solicited to do it for free, so I'd rather keep mine :D

The only drawback is that it's difficult to recognise people, we have to learn their names now, extra work :)

I don't like it. It is confusing and I have decided that to save myself time on theads with too many similar avitars, I will not buy anything from one of those threads. Does anyone care, no. But it will save me time.

People have to know there is a potential cost to wasting my time. Hope the pennies are worth it

First, i was very reluctant to sell my avatar as I was using my own pictures. But getting a good amount every month will help me to pay my hosting bills . so I decided to rent my avatar. But feels sad on the fact that there is no longer my picture in my avatar. .. .. Is there anyway i can superimpose my picture infront of the present avatar?
