What is the future of SEO in India?

I read so many blogs and hear so many podcasts that say "SEO is dead" or soon will be. Do you think there is any truth to these arguments? Or does SEO just get a bad rap because there are so many people who illegitimately claim to know so much about it, but aren't successful? I work for a large agency mainly on PPC stuff but am thinking about learning more about SEO, just don't know much about where it's going.

Share your opinion what is the future whatever bad or good, just share with me.

SEO won't dead. You need to keep update frequently how search engine works. If you stand with old methods, may be not so effective already.

As long as there is a world wide web, there will be search engines. As long as there are search engines, there will be SEOs. As long as there are SEOs, there will be wannebees who give the profession a bad name.

The seo work is changing with the time because google know what people are doing, so in future companies will not run their business without seo.

SEO is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site. I guess no body can stop its growth.

Don't you think Google will localize the results even for short tail keywords? Will a US company have a harder time trying to get into India and visa versa?

We've seen this already throughout different regions in the US. Google serving different results.
