Some day, the internet will give way to something more useful/exotic! Same way as the radios with valves (do you remember them?) gave way to transistorized radios, they in turn to televisions, TVs gave most of its charm to the monochrome computers (without internet), they to color computers and internet, phones to mobiles, tut-tut Ford cars to the Jap cars, and now I have heard that there are flying cars too! ... Will there be 3D real-life computers with little actual figures that we can actually "touch" :D! (Why not, if there are innovations where we can "smell" the aromas of flowers and foods over the internet!) ...

That would be fun! Especially the 3D real-life next-gen "Computers" where we play with almost live cars (no real accidents that way), and real people being telecast "Live"... not flat images, but "actual"... get me?!! You took me on a trip to a Wonderland! Thanks! :D

Ever seen Star Trek Nextgen or Voyager? You're describing the holo deck.

Those are holographic images... without the touch factor. Haven't seen those though. I am talking of touch factor:)

You haven't seen; the holo deck *is* with touch. You are exactly describing the holo deck down to the fact that you can 'race' in cars and drive into other cars without getting hurt.
Holographic in Star Trek are touchable, life like. You should watch it (especially Voyager); great fun.

And yes, companies are working on this technology ; around 2015 a first 'electronic clay' prototype of this kind of thing will appear on the market (probably costing like $100k or something but ok).

It sure will be bright future. I wouldn't agree that everything will be free, but the internet will for sure judge the tv. I think television will go in history very soon, most of the new generations are used to get informations or entertainment when they want it and where they want it..
