I have always have found social bookmarking to be the fastest. Even a 1 day old site that hasnt been indexed can get 200 uniques its first day even if the article you write is average. As far as alot of these tricks I don't know about paying people to stumble or favorite you but I do think the video/yourtube idea is top notch.
If you really fast and targeted traffic I would suggest placing an ezine solo ad. You can very easily get thousands of visitors within a couple of days of pacng the ad. You can also try PPC networks like Adwords or Adbrite where you can buy clicks pretty cheap and I would suggest starting off with Adbrite if you are not experienced with PPC right now. Paid traffic will get you the fastest and most targeted results. Free traffic like articles, forums and videos are a little less targted and are a longer term stategy for website traffic.
