This has crossed my mind as you can have advertising (PPC) and email marketing (brochures) but what is article marketing to the offline business world?
poster dude. You place the poster on right spot. I think advertising maybe equal too banner ad, not with PPC.
To my mind article marketing originated in the offline world. People used to, and still do write pieces (articles) for newspapers, magazines etc.
Press releases. They are often picked up by newspapers and other news outlets. Great way to bring exposure to your business.
Press releases. In fact, when I lived in Los Angeles, I worked at a PR firm, Sommerville and Associates, that specialized in press releases for four star resorts. We periodically wrote press releases about new things going on at our clients' locations and mailed those press releases along with glossy photos to all the top travel magazines. When the articles we produced met the needs of the magazine, they got published as actual content rather than as a paid ad. That's marketing gold.
Article marketing in the offline world is almost the exact same as the online world. The only difference is in the offline world you submit to magazines and newspapers whereas in the online world you submit to e-zines and press release sites. They are almost the exact same. Only the form the media takes has gone digital.
Yes, article marketing in an offline business world is like posting articles in newspapers, magazines and brochures.
Magazine articles or television appearances where your contact details and/or professional credentials are provided. Can give you leads and clients if you are a professional, expert or have a business which does something associated with the topic of your magazine article.
I would have to totally agree about press releases. You may also consider postcards for a direct mailing.
Yeah, I would also have to say newspapers / magazine articles would have to be equivalent. The only issue I see with that though is one significant difference. Most people who read articles online are people searching for information on the topic. Typically newspapers are more casual readers skimming through various articles about a wide range of topics. Article readers on the right topics have more intent to buy something (depending on the article). A guy reading a newspaper or a magazine is doing more casual reading I would guess.
