Recently I couldn't fine my page indexed on google with my keywords. 10 of my page used to be indexed in the first page of google, but now they all gone. When I key in site:mydomain.com on google, i can see all of my pages are indexed. but with link:mydomain.com, its zero result. whats wrong? Am I panelized? What is the different between link:mydomain.com and site:mydomain.com?
site:mydomain is for finding a search term on all the pages which are indexed on google ... Example "iphone site:mydomain.com" .. this will search for the text "iphone" on all the pages which are indexed for mydomain.com link:mydomain.com .. this is used for finding backlinks to your domain ... websites which are linking mydomain.com on their website .. try using yahoo search for link:mydomain.com .. It might take time for your backlinks to come on google if u have any...
searching link:mydomain.com is not a reliable way to search backlinks. Try using other free services.
link:mydomain.com means how many back links pointing to your website. and site:mydomain.com means how many pages of your site has been indexed. As you mentioned link:mydomain.com, its zero result, you should not worry about that because you can now do work on back links.
As long as your pages are indexed in Google your site is not penalized. site command gives the pages of your site that are indexed by Google and link command gives the backlinks, but Google generally hides your backlinks so there is no need to worry.
