Rural marketing means adopting marketing strategies targetting rural customers. Basically in rural areas the demand, likes and dislikes, requirements, preferences of the people, consumers, are quite different from the peole from metros. Keeping in mind them as target we need to adjust, change or orient the marketing concept, content, presentation everyting- that is rural marketing.

Rural marketing isn't a lot different than local marketing in many ways. First, you are looking at a relatively specialized market. With localized marketing, there may be issues with availablilty of resources in the area. With rural marketing, you typically _assume_ that your target market doesn't have access to the items you are selling, or at least not conveniently. This changes the tone of your advertising to one of filling a known need instead of hard-selling into a potentially saturated market.

The goods/products you sell through rural marketing are often quite different as well. What sells to the inner city may fail miserably in a rural areal.
