Blogspot is where people that setup their blogs with Blogger are hosted. They appear like: http: / / kaylatahzan.blogspot.com Wordpress is a competitor. I have managed/edited blogs on Blogger, I have a couple. Personally, I prefer WordPress, especially for the self-hosted option. Don't think Blogger offer a self hosted version. Blogger was purchased by Google not too long ago.
wordpress.COM and blogger.com are the same open source free hosting option ...but they both have limited plugins and other options... whereas ... wordpress.ORG is best (and my favorite) option when designing blogs or websites for clients - they have an endless supply of fresh themes and VERY USEFUL plugins for all sorts of situations for your blog to run smoothly and have that look and feel of a professional, social and sparkly appearance however, to run wordpress.ORG platform you have to have your own domain and hosting option - you could pay for one or use a free one (PM me for info on the free domain/hosting option)...
If you you want a very fast setup and don't have any special requirements to finetune your blog (seo, appearance etc) I'd recommend Blogspot. Otherwise take wordpress.
Really depends on your needs. If you are building a killer site with not much effort. In other words make the software "do it" for you. Then Wordpress.org, your own hosting/domain with a couple must-have plugins and a cool theme, should do it. Know I do have to tell you, there is some of a learning curve. By a week or so you should pretty good if you watch the Youtube tutorials on wordpress. But here is the cool thing, you learn once, you use forever. Definitely worth a shoot Dan
Basicly, blogger is good/known for people who have no hosting of there own, and wordpress is good/known for open source blog to host on your own site with 1,000s of themes and plugins to make your blog look and be its best
In my experience, onlime marketeers tend to go with wordpress as it is more flexible and it is their own, while regular guys take the blogspot options cos its free
Comparing Blogspot to self-hosted Wordpress is like comparing apples to oranges. It's pretty simple... Blogspot is free, but you don't own the domain and have limited options for widgets/themes. You can set up a blogspot in 30 seconds, so it's cheap, and fast to set up. But hey, you get what you pay for, right?
WordPress is a blogging platform. WordPress.com hosts WordPress for you almost like Blogger does. WordPress.org is where you can download WordPress if you want to host it yourself.
