Hello All, DP Members, I want to know the What is the difference between Unique Visitors and First time visitors? Please send me reply ASAP
First time visitor: The person as visited first time at your website. Unique Visitors: The total of the returning visitors.
Unique visitors can be considered as the number of individuals who have visited your website. dont you know that if a person is using a dial-up connection and it disconnects and reconnects, they will be assigned a different IP address and considered as another unique visitor if they return to your website.
i think no difference between unique Visitors and First time visitors because any First time visitors become unique visitors.
First time visitor is the number of NEW ip addresses to visit your site in any period Unique visitors is the number of different ip addresses in your logs in the same period When a new ip address visits your site for the first time that visitor is new. However in any period you may have lots of visitors, so lots of ip addresses. Some visitors will return and their ip addresses will not be unique. You might have the same ip address visit your site 20 times but this will be 1x unique visitor. So unique visitors is the number of people who have visited your site, not the number of visits your site has received.
Unique visitor is a unique IP to your site that month (but they may have been there before on records) A First time visitor is the first time in the whole records, that it sees that IP and visitor appearing on your site. A first time visitor is also a unique visitor ..but a unique visitor isn't necesarrily a first time visitor. example: 10 people walk into your store 8 of those people you remember have come every day ..and they also came to your store last month and the month before. You recognize their faces from seeing them so many times. But, 1 of those people he keeps walking into your store..walking around the aisle and leaving out the front door , only to run in a circle in your parking lot and come right back in through the front door to your store. You have a machine that keeps track of how many people come into your store, but this guy that keeps running in and out is annoying you..he's gonna give you bad readings on how many people to your store ..because you want to know how many people come into your store, and compare that to how much money you make and how much products you sell ...but this guy , running in and out ..is gonna mess up your whole system. SO .. you make it so that once that person comes in ..you push a button , and if they ever come in and out again on that same day ..it will ignore it and not count them again. This makes you happy, because nobody can screw up your system. That guy is now only a unique visitor = ONE TIME. and is not counted every time he runs in and out the door. Just then..another person walks in to your store, you've never seen this person ever before, they look like they're from out of town, and they say= "we just moved here!" This person is a FIRST TIME visitor. But, since he walked through the door he was ALSO counted as a unique visitor on your count machine.
And you have SEO in the title? Unique Visitors is the amount of indvidual people who have visited your site inside a time period you specified i.e person A could visit 5 times in a time period but would only count once
Unique Visitors: Unique Visitors represents the number of unduplicated (counted only once) visitors to your website over the course of a specified time period. A Unique Visitor is determined using cookies. A unique is someone who has not been there before. 1st time is just that, a first time, so they would also be unique... so it's basically the same thing.
