hello friends i dont hav much knowledge about domain names so i want to know that what is the difference between push a domain and transfer a domain? can i push/domain from https://www.onlinenic.com/ to other companies like godaddy.
As mentioned by mentos they should both have the same meaning. Usually there is no fee for transferring your domain name to a different registrar, unless your new registrar wishes to charge you for additional years of domain renewal. You can find info on how to transfer away from onlinenic in their FAQ. Look for 'How do I transfer my domain name to other Registrar?'
They're NOT the same. A push is from one account with a single registrar to another account at the same registrar. Most registrars allow this for free. A transfer is between an account with one registrar and an account with a different registrar. This costs money. In most cases, unless the current registrar really sucks, buyers prefer the push with the current registrar because the buyer has to pay the transfer fee.
The term push domain name is commonly found in eBay. Since domain names are just digital constructions, they cannot be shipped like other goods. They can only be pushed to the auction winner within the same registrar company (for it to be pushed to another person the original owner and that person must have an account with the same registrar company.) On the other hand the transfer of a domain name can be carried between different registrar companies.
Yep, that clears things up a bit. I guess the term pushed could mean quite a few different things to be honest, depending on what registrar is using it. In this case as Nyamache Joshua said it is probably referring to a transfer of the domain registrant (change of ownership) on a domain name. Regarding the transfer out of domain names, most registrars do not charge a fee to do this.
Both of them have the same meaningin application. Yes you can transfer any domain from any company to another company.
Both are not same, as said by @dropcatchsell Push : Transfer the ownership of the domain to another account within the same registrar Transfer : Transfer the domain to another registrar (Owner need not to be changed)
arshaduzair has explained the terms push and transfer very precisely and to the point. As far as cost of each type is concerned its dependent on the Registrars.
