hello, i dont know the difference between Shared Hosting & Dedicated server . Can anybody tell me this in DETAILS ...... PLEASE HELP ME....AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
Shared hosting means that your website is on a dedicated server with many other websites from many other people. Whilst a dedicated server means that you have your own server, so you can use all the HDD, CPU, Ram and bandwidth.
Dedicated means you will get your own setup server. Basically you can do what ever you want with it..No restriction except that you do not own the hardware/equipment/server. Shared you will have to share with other hosters.. limited access such as you can't have telnet access, back end/cron process longer than certain limited time, etc Hope that helps..
ok normally who takes the dedicated servers ?? where people can use dedicated server ?? i wanna say that .... why people choose dedi servers instead of shared servers ?? i want to host my 13 websites, which should i prefer ?? help me plz
People with large sites that need all the system cpu, ram, hdd or bandwidth order dedicated servers. If your sites don't use a lot of cpu, ram, hdd or bandwidth then shared hosting is for you. If not then I suggest you get a dedicated server.
^^^ yes you can easily go for shared hosting, and you can also take a webhosting package and run your multiple websites using addon domains.
Dedicated server - Its been fully explained to you. A full computer, dedicated solely to you. You can fill up all its HD, use all its processing power, you have control. Semi-dedicated - A shared hosting server with less people on it. You typically get to use more processing power than on a regular shared server. For example, a regular shared hosting server can host up to 500 websites. Semi Dedicated may be anywhere from 2-50 clients I would say. Virtual Private Server - A virtual dedicated server. Hosts use a really powerful "host node" and then split it up into multiple VPSes. With a VPS you get root access, and get to use as much processing power as you purchase. Its basically a cheaper alternative to a dedicated server for when you don't need too much resources. A great example would be an upgrade for shared hosting. Say with your shared hosting account, you need to install a script that requires root access. This would not work for shared, or semi dedicated, so you would need either a VPS or dedi server.
i want to be a reseller of dedi, semi dedi servers & VPS. which company allows this ?? for Both, Windows & Linux.
