What is the difference between article submission and press release?

I know this may be a "noobie" question, but what is the difference between article submission and press release? Don't they serve the same purpose?

 

Yes they serve the same purpose, both for seo but each differs on how it's done.

 

You can submit any articles in the article submission sites..You can add only news & events in the press release submission

 

Articles means information about any topic or subject or service but press release means the latest update or news related to your product.

 

Yes almost same as both are SEO techniques. In article submission you can submit any kinds of topic relevant to your products or site. You can create arguments, merits and demerits but In a press release you'll have to release the update of your site or product and relevant news.

 

it's the way the press release vs. the article submission sounds. they are two different things. and, a press release is more likely to get picked up by YaHoO! and Google News, versus an article published, which is only syndicated by online article directories

 

both article submission and press release serve same propose in mean of SEO, thou, both are different .... article provide information in particular niche you belong hence it sets you authority in that niche, where as press release showcase you service and product launches and updations, press release are use for other proposes too

both article submission and press release are beneficial and used for same propose, but personally i give more weight-age to article submission.....

 

In Article Submission you basically need to write an informative content whereas in press release you can introduce your new business and talk about it. Talking about your business or introducing it can be considered as spamming in article submission directory and your submission might get rejected.

Articles Are not really Getting much Traffic ..

Theres not much difference .. While what i think is articles Services like Ezines are really Strict on the Articles you submit .. they dont except links ... and all that creepy stuff ..

But press-releases are really i am probably getting a lot of backlinks from them ..

I would suggest you to go for Press-releases ... Article marketing are not that bad ...
Just not my type ...
