Adwords is where you advertise your site on other sites and you pay everytime someone clicks on your ad.
Adsense is where you place other people's ads (from Adwords) on your site. You are paid every time someone clicks on those ads on your site.

    Enjoy!

    Col :)

Adsense is a way to make money from your website with Google, Adwords is just opposite to this, its a way to loose money on Google Ads.

Just type google adsense into google, you'll get to a sign up page. You need a website of your own to get started, google will review the site and choose whether to approve your site of not.

I've heard earning claims anywhere from $0 - $500,000 a year. But don't get to excited, to make good money from adsense you need quality site and lots of interested viewers.

My simple understanding of the 2:
    1. Adwords - you pay Google money - they advertise your sites
    2. Adsense - Google pays you money - you advertise Google's clients' sites

plentyoffish.com makes about a million a month (or a year?) in adsense... I guess there is a potential but there's hard work involved. Many "died" trying...

Advertisers places ads on google adwords, and google places those ads on search result content websites (=adsense).

Oh..great .. that picture explains all..

That depends on so many factors .. your content..traffic to your website etc.

And again traffic alone cannot bring in money as they need to click the ads placed on your website by Google Adsense for you to get paid.
Well, there are many websites as well as blogs where you can read more about how to make good money out of Google Adsense. Google it... you will get more information.

    Adwords - Where you spend
    Adsense - Where you earn

Not if you are doing it properly. If you are not at least breaking even on your AdWords costs, then you have bigger problems than Google taking your money.

Boy, if only people will learn how to do a simple Google search before opening a thread, DP will be a much less cluttered place.

    Hi Alisha,

You gotta fill this form and submit before you place an ad on your site-

    https://www.google.com/adsense/g-app-single-1

Once you submit it, google adsense team reviews your site and gets back to you within a week. You can then start placing ads on your site but make sure you have at least 3-4 good posts before applying for adsense.

    Hope it helps:)

    Layman Language :
Adwords = Promote your website using Google Ads displayed on some other website. When someone clicks on that link, it will redirect to your website. You need to pay to Google for this.

Adsense = If Google Ads are on your website and someone happens to click on it, then you get paid by Google if the click is genuine. This is free.
