All the webbrowsers in the world are designed to show HTML-content but with flash-sites you need to install the falshplugins. iphones and ipads are some of the devices that dont support this. Looking at SEO (Search engine optimization), HTML is the best choice.

On the other hand, Flash offers some capabilities that simply cannot be matched using pure HTML code, such as animation, dynamic content generation and user interactivity. Much of this capability stems from the Actionscript, which is the scripting language used in the Flash environment.

What gmonlinegames said is absolutely correct - flash was not meant to be used to make entire webpages, it was meant to make individual elements that could be added to a website, such as a menu, video, game, etc. Flash is essentially a movie, and the search engines can't all read the content inside of a movie, so essentially any keywords or content you have within the flash file is invisible to the search engine spiders.

Thank you for answers. I saw some tutorials that when upload a site in flash due to export the flash file in dreamweaver, there to save the document .html and upload it on that server. on the server you need to upload the 2 files the html and swf file. That would help somewhat to optimization best search engine.

to show a flash online you need to embed it in a html file, but it wont help the SEO in any way. You need to add meta tags for each site but google still cant get the content/text out of the swf file. Google reads the content of your site to place your site in the seach results, but if you use flash it cant read what you write on your site.

I'm sure there is complicated ways to solve this, ,but it's no secret that HTML is way better then flash at this part.

But, a flash is more attractive. A typical artist website is good to have in flash. You need no markedting but you need cool animations and effects. Thats the best side of flash.

HTML5 is really sniffing the ass of flash. The future is really merging in some way there. HTML5 got BIG stuff going on, so I think the flash-sites will struggle in a few years

HTML sites don't look as attractive as Flash sites, but Flash fails when it comes to the compatibility with all the browsers and products. It is also hard to work on SEO for Flash based sites. I would always consider HTML only.

Flash sites are pretty interesting if you can really use its amazing features and make a site outstanding. Still most people who'd venture into Flash just use some basic animations or floating texts, which we can actually live without. As a personal choice, I stick away from it since my SEO work means I have to get the site to load fast and be 'readable' with ease by the search engines. Not to mention my sites are usually article sites or forums and they really don't need animations.

    HTML works everywhere.

Flash works ONLY if you are able to down load the Flash engine.
