What is the concept of keywords

I have some blogs and have been reading about keywords on the net many a times. First of all, for a layman, the following things should be clear to enable him to benefit:

    1. Where and how the keywords are inserted. In the content of articles of blog, below each article, in the html page?

    2. Is it necessary that keyword should also be existing in the content. Suppose we want to insert keyword (at a place other than content), then the same keyword should be a part of the content otherwise it will lose its relevance.

    3. If the keywords exist in the content portion, whether they need to be highlighted such as by making bold, within inverted commas, underlined or so.

You are all experts but all are not so. Please tell for the benefit of others who are new in the field.

    Vinodka,
it's very simple. Keywords are just regular text you put on verious places.

    1. in your website/blog - as part of the test. it means the words yyou use in order for the search engines will pick your page for certain words ppl search for.

    2. in your pay par click campaign -if you are running a pay par click campaign these are the words you choose in order for your ads to show up. it means that people will look for those words in a search engine such as google abnd according to the words ( keyowrds) you chose yuor ads will show up.

    is that okay now?

I suggest you to put keywords to:
    1. title - 1 time
    2. description - 1 time
    3. content - 3 times for 400 - 600 words

    This really works for SEO!
