Technical SEO is the process of optimising the technical elements of a website in order to improve the ranking of its pages in search engines like Google and Yahoo. Technical optimization is the process of making a website more responsive, simpler to crawl, and more comprehensible to search engines, among other things.

Technical SEO is part of On_Page SEO.
On_Page SEO is all about optimizing the website for the Users and Search Engines as well.

So, what part of the On_Page SEO is basically a part of Technical SEO or called Technical SEO?

For this part of SEO, you need to have some technical knowledge or basic knowledge of programming because the changes we do make in the coding part for better optimization and for better ranking are the part of technical SEO. For example redirections and webpage loading speed.

    Technical SEO Checklist:
    • Webpage Speed: Slow loading speed increases the bounce rate as users don't wait too long to load the webpage. And, to improve the webpage loading speed you need to focus on many different things like minification of CSS, JS, server response time, image optimization, hosting services etc.
    • Fix Broken Links: Fixing broken links on the webpage is also part of On_Page SEO that helps to boost the ranking as well as increase the user experience.
    • URL Redirections: This is the most important part because if your website is accessible with two or more URLs then it is a bad signal to Search Engines and it causes to decrease in the ranking. It’s important that you are only allowing Google to index one version of your site. For example, search engines see all of these domains as different websites, rather than one website:
      https://abc.com, http://www.abc.com, https://abc.com, https://www.abc.com
      Code (markup):
It also causes duplicate content issues. You can fix these issues by simply make the 301 redirections by using the .htaccess file, using the no-index meta tags (to avoid duplicacy of content), setting the preferred domain in Search Console or Webmasters Tool.
    • Shift the Website to Secure Version: It means migrating the HTTP version of the website to the HTTPS version. HTTPS provides end-to-end encryption between the browser and the server that prevent unwanted access of the third person.
    • User-Friendly URLs: Always try to use as short and simple URLs as possible to make them user-friendly and easy to remember.
    • Integration with Tracking Tools and Search Console: Setup with Tracking Tools (GA) and Search Console is important to track your users and error reports.
    • Add Schema Markup: It gives context to Google about the meaning of a page and helping your organic listings stand out on the SERPs.
    • XML Sitemap: It tells the Search Engine about the site structure and is recommended to the large size website (having over 100 or more pages). This helps crawlers to easily understand which page has to be indexed or which not.
    • Robots.txt File: robots.txt file is used to give the instructions to the SE crawlers on how to crawl the particular website.
    • Page Experience: Google’s new page experience signals combine Core Web Vitals with their existing search signals, including mobile-friendliness, safe-browsing, HTTPS security, and intrusive interstitial guidelines.

Site's load speed, UX, optimization of images and videos, number of fonts that exist on the site, the structure of elements, code structure, mobile-friendliness, content optimization, number of links that you have, keywords implementation, implementation of title tags, meta-tags and alt-tags on all pages, and so on. But, this would be some basic that you need to check before you proceed with other activities.

    Great answers.

Also, believe it's a good idea to go back on old blog posts and update them. Not only will it look better with better images (visuals) it will also be flagged by Google (in a good way) for fresh content, as it were.

More importantly, it's giving your visitors a better, updated user experience.
Are you updating a blog post with more current content? Why not let your social media followers know?

It's a great way to keep active and generally keep your website updated and tidy as it were. Like bread, no one likes it going stale (or maybe you might, best dipped in soup).

It may also serve to trigger ideas for new fresher blog posts.

This is in addition to the natural SEO of inter-link building, optimizing keywords (short and long), content-specific, and relevant to your particular niche.

Finally, it's also a great way of regularly sending visitors to relevant specific pages instead of just the 'home page' which, maybe great but let's face it, if you are writing great content and updating it consistently, why not let everyone know about the loads of pages which are still yet to be explored!
