What is the cheapest shared hosting company out there?

OK, so here's the thing: I am currently on hostgator and think they're great (on the Baby Plan)

But is there a cheaper and equally reliable/well known company out there?

Since you are on the baby plan I'm guessing you require multiple domains. If Hostgator hasn't given you any problems I'd say stay with them. But if it's really a money issue and you have to find a lower cost shared hosting plan with add-on domains check into WebHostingHub.

Depends what exactly you require, but AllHostOne's shared hosting starts at $1.00

Just remember that cheap isn't always better. You do get what you pay for in this industry. Unfortunately, a lot of people never realize that, and just keep jumping around from host to host when things don't work out.

As said, To be honest before I started the webhosting industry my self, I had swapped hosts so many times because I just could not find a decent host, I thought that yes cheap would be great but found out although cheap but not reliable, so you do in smoe cases need to spend money to get that reliability

I could not agree with allhostone more. It is more often the case than not that as the price drops so does the level of service. Host hopping can cost you more time and money in the end. You can choose a well priced host that offers reliable service and stay with them for the lifetime of your hosting needs with less headaches than you will encounter when you are only looking for the next lowest price.

Continueing on from what JPC said, Yes it's best to do some host hopping, but at the same time, you can get hosts which are real cheap and still offer oustanding service, it's just trying to find that host.

Well, i have many clients who pay absolutely stuff all USD because i charge out per month in NZD.. So if your looking for cheap hosting, go for a host with a good currency rate when exchanged for your native currency.

There are some $1 monthly host. Hostso.com is one of them. But you get what you pay for. The cheapest, the worst.
