According to my experience most of the companies sell domains bellow 5$ add additional fees when we make the final purchase. Have you purchased a .com domain for 1year from domainsarefree.com for 3.99$?
If you want to use the domain with other hosting besides domainsarefree it costs $2 a year. So its basically $6 overall unless you use domainsarefree hosting. Hostingdude is only for .info I am pretty sure. If you want .net or .com it costs like $9.
First time I heard on this company. But for me, Name.com is still the cheapest because they're offering cheap domain + free private whois.
Cheapest company is often not the best one. if you only need one domain then yes, but if you planning to actively manage your portfolio dynadot.com worked well for me.
Anything under 6USD and you're surely going to raise red flags. It's an illogical business model to operate on (hello, they're losing money with registrations???) - you're going to get stung with some hidden fees at some point.
I always purchase domains from godady.com, its not cheap though but you get decent discount once you add promo code to it. I bought .com domains @ $6 for one year.
if you don't buy more than 10 domains, if i were you i choose to buy domains from enom,networksolutions,moniker.com,dynadot.com,mydomain.com or etc. but if you plan to buy more than 15 domains,i suggest you name.com (or may be go#daddy)
i checked out hostingdude, i tried registering a domain, did not give it to me for 1.99, its still 9.99 D;
I believe that any domain name registrar become the cheapest among others time by time... All depend on what how good you are in discount coupon finding
