I dont think you want to go there. Thats a dead end.
Have you worked out a projected return on your capital? I have been trying to put a $$$ value to that elusive back link but its yo-yo'ing around so much my head hurts. How did your sums work out? How do you expect to make your money back now that you cant sell either links or PR.

Man, if you're thinking in terms of a Yellow pages, bravo

A web directory on the other hand is launched every minute , somewhere in the world for possibly as little as $50

Each one of them fancies itself the equal of Yahoo directory or Botw :)

So can you tell a little more about your intended audience :)

Making a directory is very easy, just got a script ( phpld free 2.1 version ) $1 per month hosting will work for you in beginning. all you need money to promote and invest on it, the more you invest that more you get..

I hoped to get something up this month but i am not happy with it just now so i am spending some more $ getting things better 4K aud, but i have no problems linking up when underway. even the first views will not show exatly the full product. I prefer to walk the walk not talk the talk so when things happen, happy to chat about it then, but i do appreciate all of the people here and their help and advice even though i dont post much, it's a great forum.

What do you have to invest in a directory besides the time you spend looking for and adding content? How do you go about "promoting" your directory and attracting buyers?

    Good price
As good as many others but not tried it.[/QUOTE]
Always worries me when people say $25 as there can and usually are much more hidden costs than $25.
Nothing in theory. Don't get caught in the trap of buying links in waste of time directories, check out if they provide real traffic not just webmaster related clicks, PR chasing is also a nono.
As many as you can put in.

Most directories don't make much first few months as they spend so much out to recover, be prepared for that. Good luck.
