What is the best Wordpress eCommerce plug-in for digital goods?

Hi all,

I'm planning to start an e-commerce website soon, primarily dealing with digital downloads. I'll be using Wordpress as a platform, but right now I'm unsure as to which e-commerce plug-in to use.

Since I'll be selling digital goods, my primary concern is to keep users from sharing the download link with others, i.e., that only those who bought the goods will be able to download it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello monsoondreams,

In my point of view WP e-Commerce is one of the best Wordpress plug-in for digital goods.

Agree with Mike. WP e-Commerce seems to be the most feature-rich.
But if you are looking for a free solution, give Jigoshop a serious try. It's an open source.

Thanks for your suggestion. Problem is, I've read so many bad reviews of WP e-Commerce, especially for digital goods. Mostly of people complaining about how WPEC fails to deliver working download links after purchase. Just looking at their support forums, it seems that they have so many irate customers (some who aren't even selling digital goods).

Try WP c-Commerce plugin. It's a great tool.

Hey there,
Try e-Junkie.e-Junkie generates HTML code for each product's "buy" button; you copy and paste that code into your site or post. When someone buys, they immediately get an email with a link that they use to download or access the product.e

Thanks for your suggestion, Kaitlyn. I've already looked at eJunkie and other third-party platforms, but I'm convinced that those aren't my best options. They cost more in the long run, and takes more effort to maintain as opposed to a Wordpress plug-in.
