What is the best way to Utilize Twitter for Traffic?

What is the best way to Utilize Twitter for Traffic? I have my stock blog http://stocksonwallstreet.net/ and then I have my Twitter account http://twitter.com/iamwallstreet which has around 11,000 followers. How do I use it to get the best traffic results?

 

get your link shortened. use tiny url. update a message on twitter every hour. make sure you post 1 advertisment message per hour or your twitter account might be suspended.

 

One message per hour and then why advertisements, won't that get me suspended? Plus are there any free Twitter automatic updating sites?

SocialOomph do a Twitter autotweet, autofollower etc. and a week free trial of it, it doesn't take credit card details or create PayPal subscription either. I use it to autotweet every 2 hours and auto message new followers. Sadly my trial ran out today :'(

 

I definitely don't agree with the person who said post one advertisement each hour. I don't think you should even tweet that often because it annoys followers. IMO, you shouldn't tweet any more often than you would without automating it. Also, don't do advertisements. It's okay to link to your stuff every once in a while but it shouldn't look like an ad and you definitely shouldn't do it too often. And make sure to balance it with real tweets.

Ya I don't agree with ads as you lose followers, whole goal is to get them to your site so just put links to your website imo

 

it would be helpful for the pro version to allow for posting from different accounts - most people who want to use such a tool want to use it with more than one account.

 

I would stay away from auto tweeters, or twitter feeds
build your list up slower, interact with others in your niche, retweet (RT) post by those users in your niche, and post a link to your site every now and than, ask your friends to RT your post

that's the best way to generate long lasting traffic

 

though many misuse those tools there are actually people around who have a real use case for such things without being spammy. )

It's imperative to interact to your followers and when it comes to tweets, Quality instead of quantity should always be considered.

 

Twitter is best used on a popular blog with link bait style or important news stories. Used the retweet plugin to let people easily retweet your blog posts.

 

Using autotweeter doesnt mean that you are spamming twitter.It depends on how you use it.That is the same reason why autotweeter.pro does not support multiple twitter accounts.There is no harm in sending an occasional "Joke of the hour" , or "Fact of the hour" using autotweeter.

 

Quality not quantity is the key.

 

Doing it manual is the way to go. Automated twittering could raise suspicion on your account.
