What is the best way to redirect a folder

I am transferring articles from http://www.information-4u.com to a blog.
The articles are categorized and each category is in a folder. I changed the html on the index page so the categories that I have already transferred are linked to the blog instead of the pages inside the site. When someone finds one of the pages from the site using a search engine and clicks on it,I would like them to find the page on the blog that covers that subject instead of the page on the site.
I could use a find and replace program to insert a "refresh" line on every page of each folder, or I could try and do something in htaccess. Which would be better? I have about 200 folders.
To understand what I mean if you go to the page and click on acne you will be directed to the blog, but if you were to find and click for example on http://www.information-4u.com/acne/truth-about-acne-skin-care.html
you would go to the site and not the blog.
Or should I just delete the folders and wait for the pages on the blog to get indexed? I am thinking that if I keep the folder with links it would be good for my blog.
