It works real well, Mike, and I have some pretty competitive keywords... it's also something that you can outsource. I'm kind of outsourcing some of it as I have my wife, who is not internet/techinical savvy, soing a lot of it.
Create small niche blogs on free sites like blogspot and wordpress.com. Post some decent original content (rewritten articles work well) that's related to your article topics. Create in-text links to your articles to give them a nice SEO boost and get them more targeted traffic.
You can make your into a podcast and then submit to a podcast directory. Also make a short video teaser and send the watcher to the website where your article is submitted. Submit your article to Google Groups or Yahoo Groups
