what is the best way to promote a NEW website?

    Hello, I have not posted in a long time, and I am starting a new website, I was wondering if you guys could help me get some ideas on how to get my site to get more traffic?

    I think this is a really commonly asked question here. the simple answers are build backlinks, work on seo, build affiliate networks, make a blog, have other websites to cross link to and many many other things. Search around the forums, dig deeper then page 1 and you will find a 1000 answers to this question, some in great detail.

    I have been having great success with new sites by using directories to get indexed; then getting immediate backlinks from Yahoo Answers and some cheap PPV tarfic. They key is to have a killer landing page that focuses on one thing... One problem, then provide one solution.

    Then you cna start ramping up using SEO, PPC, or...

    Here's 7 things you can do:

    1. Write a press release and submit to free press release site such as inews wire
    2. submit your site to directories.
    3. Social bookmark your site on Delicious, Stumbleupon, Google Bookmarks...
    4. Write articles with links back to your site, submit to ezine articles and other article directories
    5. Do the same thing and create a lens on Squidoo with a link to your site.
    6. Find forums relating to your niche, get to know people in the forum, add a link to your sig. when posting ( I do this here!)
    7. Go to Fiverr and look for gigs for building backlinks.

    Use PPC, it's easy and fast. Normally, you need to pay per ad clicked, but I know how to do PPC without any investment.

    - Search engines submission
    - Directory submission
    - Social bookmarking submission
    - Social networking
    - Video marketing
    - RSS submission
    - Article marketing
    - E-mail marketing
    - Blogging
    - Forum posting
    - PPC marketing

    All these techniques are bit tiresome, you may use a tool called ‘Keyword Country’ automating these techniques... It helps in saving huge time.

    Get articles written and submit your site and articles to many social bookmarking websites. I would also have a Twitter account set up, and possibly a Facebook page as well.

    Write comments in your niche forums
