what is the best way to move data from server to server?

my server A have 160G HD, and it already have 130G data, many many files.
now i have a new server B with 1TB HD
what is the best way to move the data from server A to B?

Try to move the content using rsync or scp.
Are you using any web hosting control panel?

 

you need to ask hosting people to backup the HDD using usb hdd

place the usb hdd to new server and copy what is required

If both servers are with the same provider, I would ask them to place your hard drive from your current server, as a slave in your new server so that you can take the data off of it. Then can then remove the drive once you are done with it. If they are different providers/datacenters. then your best bet is rsync the info from the old to the new.

If website is on same Hosting Providers then you need to send request hosting provider with complete CP and FTP information. If not then you will copy from first server and they copy on other servers then you need to change path as well.

 

Ask your new hosting provider to do it for you. He will need your old server FTP details to move your data to their servers.
