I am a real estate agent and am marketing a resort in Costa Rica for sale. I have recently hired a Craigslist poster to post ads like this one to 60 different US cities: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/reo/1632759741.html With 60 posts, I received 3 leads. I paid $.50 for each post ($30 for 60 posts). So it works out that I paid $10 per lead. To me, that seems like an expensive cost for a potential lead. Are there other ways are there to promote this property and generate leads? if I offered a $3-5 per lead to a marketer, what would they do? Any Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
PPC might be a good avenue for you. You could specifically target those looking for costa rica properties. I don't know how it would equal out to per lead because only you know the conversion rates you have where you developed those leads. What I would recommend is placing your property details online somewhere, some place like realtor.com (I believe they are US only). Then, use PPC to drive traffic to your specific URL. Good luck! For only one property, I would not recommend any long-term investments such as article marketing or link building since you will just kill the listing as soon as it is sold, right?

Just focus on getting listed on as many Real Estate/ Vacation Properties/ Costa Rica sites as you can. Let's be honest though, the odds of someone buying a resort in Costa Rica as a result of a Craigslist post are pretty damn low. I would guess of the 3 leads you got, 2 are just elaborate spam schemes...
well... you have a point there. .... Actually i think thats a good idea. better enlist your property with its details or features who knows, it might help you generate leads.
If you are in london and you do want to market or make a great deal of your property for cash, just approach a Property cash buyer will finish of the deal at nick of time. As simple as that, else get listed in local directories and make some interesting blog post of that particular property with ample informations, photos and contact numbers + post it in local classified sites, will help you out to make great deals. You have to go where your target market hangs out and mingle with them. I would sit down and make a customer avatar of my perfect buyer. Get extremely targeted to who I want to attract! Then get in front of them with the benefits of your offer! Then I would go where they are and advertise. If it is a great deal ?Real estate investing sites! If your customer is a vacationer then places they would go and so on! A price of a lead is determined by it's quality and what determines quality is how highly targeted the lead is! In other words you are getting what you pay for! If I sold you leads at $500 a lead and you close 1 out of every 3 price of the lead just isn't relevant anymore is it! As far as hiring a marketer ! Great idea if you want to sell the property & generate more leads! But find out exactly what kind of leads they will be sending you and price them accordingly, In other words "Quality Of The Lead" How do they plan on generating the leads will determine the quality . You have to watch out because if you are paying a low number per lead then what happens is the marketer will offer a incentive to the perspective buyer to get the lead, then the lead is worthless because the people are only signing up for the incentive not for the product!
