I have been playing with this question for awhile - what is the best way to look at my competitors backlinks?

I currently use yahoo site explorer - although it does not show all of them :'(

    Any suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks in advance,

    Rich

I think backlink watch uses yahoo site explorer to pull the data but also looks at the anchor text too... ??

There is a free peice of software called SEO spyglass where you enter a competitors URL and you get all the details of their backlinks such as, pr of domain, anchor tect, linking to, age of domain stuff like that. The software is free but you can upgrade to advanced version.

There are other bits of software with it which is part of a package one for tracking your rank within search engines (not 100% accurate), link assistant and website auditor which gives you advice on how to improve your website in terms of keyword density and using the right headers within the page

Part of that package called rank tracker give it a go and see how you get on, blimey sounds like I'm trying to plug it, just tried the rank tracker and it seems to work fine now

If you think that Yahoo explorer don't provide all backlink info for competitor, you should try backlinkwatch. Its a great tool to check every cached backlink for a website.
