Does anyone know the correct and most effective html format to create a backlink. I am stumped on this and whether to add the http://www. or even www. in the html. If someone could give me a good example I would really appreciate it.

if you're looking for a backlink to the homepage, i alway do http://www.yoursite.com

you can set in google webmaster tools your preferred url (with or without 'www.') - i always do with www, because most backlinks will be to that url.

It depends on you when creating a backlink. You could use a URL with or without http://www or www as long as you make sure that you stick with one or the other. I would advise you go with the full http://www though.

For internal links, I believe it is much better to use absolute links, meaning the full URL. I've read it here somewhere. Try searching for it.

    Hope that helps. :D

Use the full absolute URL in internal and external links, this prevents any crawling errors due to improper internal or external linking.

    Example: http://www.gosite.com/site.html
