besides the tome...which is deep reading.. I just want to be able to install it, put some rotating images in a header using flash. flash for dummies..? thanks
I'm not an expert on Flash but if you only need to learn how to create basic animations, then I would recommend you to read their Lessons/Tutorials under Help. They have step by step guides that you can follow and practice. At least that's how I learned the basics of Flash.
I agree. Try the help tutorial. It i clear, easy to follow and you'll learn fast the basic. Then you can get deeper by playing around...
True! I suggest, to learn any Software the correct way of proceeding is reading Help files of that Software. Tutorials available on internet are created/wrote out of experience of individual Animators/Designers. The first step is to read Help files and to proceed on to tutorial sites.
I agree with everyone else, the best place to start is under help and go through all the tutorials, no matter how much they don't seem to apply to what you want to do in the beginning. The software companies put them there for a reason.
there's also flashkit.com, they have tutorials and downloadable movies. The image header thing you were talking about can be done using components. Try afcomponents.com for some samples.
You have here: _http://www.cartoonsmart.com/?gclid=CLigs8asqIoCFRKrXgod11qcpQ alot of free macromedia flash tutorials for beginning designers
well u could also check out flashloaded.com, personally im a big fan of cartoonsmart.com cuz its got good tutorials. wel one more thing i felt was that if ur sole aim is to have small simple animations then try ur hand at "Swish" which is a readymade flashanimation tool....
thanks to all responses.. DP'ers are great. I understand why there's freebies given on this forum. I will go through the deep help files now and enlighten myself. hopefully, as I read thru it, ooohhs and aaahhhs come out. Anyway, usually I'm a guy who learns hands on, trial and error, no manuals needed. so, we shall see.
The tutorials are hands on. They may not be exactly like what you want to work on at the moment, but they are all applicable, and they help to explain all the tools and the way they work in Flash.
I think you should check out a few books and tutorial sites. I took a course in school and I learned a lot. I only know a few basics though. I also don't recommend the Cartoon Smart tutorials. The guy can get very boring and a lot of the videos are very long.
The help tutorial inside flash is excellent, after that theres no better places than http://www.flashkit.com Hey, since this is a flash thread, why not check out the flash game in my sig for inspiration?
http://lynda.com, I of course travelled around the world with nothing but a PowerBook and some flip-flops, climbing mountains high and diving to the bottom of the oceans to learn the true meaning of flash
