    Hi

After reading some of the posts in this forum, I found out that placing links in forum signitures, directary listings etc doesn't really improve SEO

But I thought the more backlinks, the better? Now I dont know

So whats the best way to improve SEO for free?

The best way for me is unique content. Also content must be intriguing and interesting. To keep and improve SEO the content must be published constantly. 5 articles per day is better than 40 per week posted in once. About links... 2-5 links per page is good. 5 and more links in the footer - not so good.
This is all from my experience.

    Enjoy!

Link building is helping SEO but link building is not about quantity but quality, and i would say it is hard to get quality link nowadays.
SO, to think on long term, focus more in content than SEO, once your site have rich content such as wikipedia, and you can see that other people will give you natural link

Also by continually having unique content added to your site, make sure you have a way for people to pull an RSS feed. If the content is good, people will take that rss feed and place it into their own sites giving you more backlinks and a larger network.

If you really want to create an authority on your site it will take you a while, i think between 6 to 18 months will give you the time so Google
and the other search engines can consider your site as an authority. But, before that, you should focus in a topic of your interest to build
authority, your site has to target an specific topic.

good quality Backlinks, quality content, eventually will put you at the top. It is a lot of work, if that would be easy, everybody could have an
authority site, is only your determination that will lead you to your final goal...Success

It's a combination of content, which draws links on its own and backlinks that you create yourself.

Forum Sig's aren't great for SEO, but plenty of people are able to move from #7 up to #1 simply by renting a forum sig from someone on this forum, clearly they must have some value.

Personally, if I wanted the best bang for my buck, I'd do a forum profile linking spree and then wait a couple of weeks to see the results.

Those two combined with a lot of unique quality content, you will have tons of suscribers and you are on your way to make money online. Most of us are trying to get some out of internet right? in my opinion a blog is the fastest way to go... What you guys think?

Work> Smart >hard. A) fix your onpage code. B) add content regularly. NOT CRAP. GOOD content others will want to share with others. C) links. GOOD links, not spammy crap links. There you go. Get to work.

If you're running a blog, be sure to have a way for your visitors to bookmark your posts. It really does help.

Try to look at the seomoz toolbar to see your domain authority, where you dont want to spend money you must spend your time doing the work yourself. The bottom line is backlinks and nothing else

I beg to disagree. For me, links from forum sigs and directory listings are still effective in link building campaign. Just focus to relevant forums and directories that are related to your site. More backlinks doesn't always means the better, you should still give importance to the quality of the link you build.

Should I be adding a couple of new games daily? I normally add ~10+ a week, all in one go
