I have a website, and I was wondering if there were any really good ways that anyone knows about for getting visitors for free?

 

The best way to get users to your site is with backlinks. Try Article submission , blog posting, forums and free classifieds. Sign everything with a link. I have great results with mass emailings. Once per month I send mass emails out about a new article I wrote. I have a massive surge in traffic and clicks.

 

Building quality backlinks is the best way to get free traffic to your site. However, sometimes this can take a long time before you can see the results, it all depends on how competitive your keywords are.

Have a monthly trivia contest based on your site's theme. Give away a simple prize. There are many directories that list contests. It has worked for me.

Viral marketing is a fun attempt. Put an AddThis button at the top of your pages. Create your own bookmarking accounts and submit all of your pages.

 

Give them a reason to come back. Easier said than done.
