It gives me more control, flexibility and of course it doesn't cost monthly fee.) pm me if you need more details on this. 2. Squeeze page - you need a clean, simple but eye-catchy squeeze page. One objective, to collect email address and name. Offer irresistible freebie that really enticing. 3. (Optional) - setup one-time offer page 4. (optional) - tell-a-friend page, make your page viral by asking your subscribers to spread the words (of course again offer them something as a token of appreciation) NEXT...promote your squeeze page like crazy The above are very simple and most importantly it works !
I've found the best way to get emails is to give something away on an opt-in page. You then get to build a relationship with the person and you can offer them lots of different products in the future.
Your going to have to give something away - in most cases - in order to get someone to signup, why bother otherwise. This is usually an informational PDF, desktop app, theme collection and so on but would depend on what your email list is targetted at.

The easiest and fastest way is to buy a ready mailing list on the Internet and start broadcasting your bulk emails to it. But know this: purchasing or renting an email list is the first step to be classified as spammer. You need to place your signup form where it can be easily found. And moreover, you need to provide people with a solid reason to give you their email address. Why should they subscribe? Explain clearly somewhere above your signup form what they will receive in return for their emails: tips, tricks, news, case studies, special offers, promotions, or whatever you will send them. I.e. give a reason to subscribe to your mailing list. And don’t forget to state your privacy policy. A line like “We will not share your email address with any third party†below the signup form would be enough. A great way to catch the visitor’s attention is by using a pop up subscription form. It used to suddenly crop up in front of your eyes while you are viewing a web page. You just can’t miss it. You can either subscribe or quickly close it if you don’t want to signup.
If you want to go with spamming way - Go buy some ready mailing list with a million of emails scraped from other sites. You can use it at your own risk since you have no permission to sent newsletter to them. You should be fine as long as they are not going to burst up by report to your hosting company. If you want to go with legit way - Create opt-in system and offer something free and valuable in exchange for email subscription. You can send them as many as you wanted, until they do cancelled the subscription. There are ways already mentioned by jinmin above. I do not want to repeat what others already said again.
Build a squeeze page and offer a free report related to your niche. Once you get a big enough list, start doing some adswaps with other marketers. Contact other marketers in your niche and ask them to add your product as a bonus product on their thank you page. You will have tons of targetted subscribers in no time
