What is the best way to get a higher ALEXA Rank

Basically the title says it all. What is the best way to begin getting a higher ranking in ALEXA? Its been really hit or miss for me

 

Isn't it to get more traffic? The easy way is to spam, the best way is to develop a site people return to because its worth something

in terms of directories, do you have to pay for the featured listings and all that crap or is that not even worth it? I have submitted to some major directories but feel like I havent gotten much more traffic.

 

Submitting to directories is really becoming worthless and getting traffic from them is really hard. Now, its a simple wastage of time to submit to directories. Go for few good directories like open directory and yahoo.

Webmaster traffic is traffic from site owners, because they normally have the alexa toolbar installed

 

Totally disagree with directories being worthless. Directory submission is good for page rank (WHICH will help in organic search over time as your PR grows).. NOT traffic. Now for what you're looking for in terms of increasing alexa traffic.. yeah directories is not what you're looking for. The fastest way to get there is a well developed ppc campaign or to buy traffic.. and in the meantime continue your seo efforts so that you can increase your serps in your organic rankings.

 

get more traffic on your web site and your alexa will bomb on the other if you submit directories on the high pr your page rank will be increase not your alexa

 

i wonder why you worry about alexa ranking, if you only concentrate on alexa ranking and not traffic, install alexa toolbar on your FF and ask all your friends to do the same, then open your site on all the computers and keep it as is, that will improve alexa rank, but alexa rank is worth nothing, its wrong in most of the cases.

 

Alexa ranking does not give a complete picture of your traffic stats.

for the fact that it is based on people who installed the Alexa toolbar. So, like hipnol said, if you want to push it up yourself, then get in contact with people that have the toolbar.

Anyway, its good having a decent alexa ranking if you wanna sell your site. Then you can always front about your score.

Submit to good directories, go for paid ones as well, do article submission, SMO and blah blah.

Some of my friends told about adding a website directory. Many webmasters will go there and... spam your directory. And most of them have alexa toolbar installed

 

Thatswhy friend nobody targets alexa.

 

Why do you want to manipulate ALEXA rankings?
I don't think it serves any purpose.
Just concentrate on the link building basics.
