What is the best way to create an AVI file that spawns a popup window when played?

    I downloaded a movie the other day that when played spawned a popup window. How was this person able to do this? It was a regular looking AVI file. Would this be best done in Flash and then just convert the FLA file to AVI?

    Any ideas?
