What is the best way to advertise to sellers?

We have just started our marketplace journey. We have been using Adwords and social media to advertise our site, but even with a lot of traffic to our site, we're not getting any new sellers to sign up at the site and create their store.

What are we doing wrong? Are we marketing to the wrong people or is there any better way to advertise directly to sellers?

Might be marketing to the wrong people. Possibly your advertising isn't targeted to the right people, so you're not seeing any sign ups.

 

classified, and marketplaces are really hard for acquisition (i mean sellers). Also from what i see, you are targeting too big ie: asia, europe america etc...try local first then slowly expand to other markets... CPA for your activity is around 3 to 10 usd ...which is very high...based on my experience...

 

It's hard to promote local first when a marketplace requires a lot of content from the whole world. We will try out different campaigns and see what works best! Thanks for the tips!

 

Is your site built on Shopify, Magento, etc? They have great apps that help with improving your advertising. Adcurve (https://marketplace.magento.com/adcurve-adcurve-integrated-solution.html) is great if you're on Magento, and we personally use Pollen (https://apps.shopify.com/poln) on our Shopify store.

 

Get their emails if you can and run Facebook ads directly for them once in a while. Use the same list to run facebook remarketing ads. Keep repeating occasionally to increase your branding. Eventually, some will become your customers (if your product/service is interesting).

 

Start with testing FB ads on different demographics. You should direct the traffic to a landing page or your own website and get them to sign up a quick form with their email. You must get the email. If the goal is creating brand awareness, focus more on Fb and Insta ads and for making sale, pick Google Ads because the intent of purchase is higher with Google search.

Once you have the emails with you, you can also retarget the buyers with strong email campaigns offering exclusive deals and coupons. Create engaging content on your site and make sure to have a blog with at least 2 weekly posts.

 

I would agree regarding FB ads. That is a good option. At the same time you need to understand that FB gives the best targeting to you and you can direct your ads on exact audience you need.
