    Hello,

i just launched a classifieds website for cars and i was wondering what is the best way to kick start it, cause at the moment nothing is listed and people wont list unless there is some listing or at least i think that, so what do you think i should do?

    any help is appreciated :)

    Thanks in advance

Link ads, PPC are some ways. Then you can also post your service on other classified ads.

but would people actually list their classifieds in a new empty site or i have to list some fake stuff first to get it started?

Go through some Craigslist ads and contact car sellers. Offer them a free listing on your site. Do that until you can build up enough content and then go for getting people to register directly.

tries the social bookmarking but it seems that people doesn't want to post any cause the website is new, know what i mean? i guess i'll have to list fake stuff maybe first then wen people see listed stuff they will be encouraged to list their stuff

but thanks for the suggestion :)

That probably won't be a good idea. What if someone actually wants to buy one of these "fake stuff"? You won't be able to provide them what they want and they probably will leave and not come back. This will earn bad reputation for your site. My suggestion would be to do what PPV Affiliate said. Also you could always try posting a video on YouTube advertising your business, making a twitter account to start getting followers, or even posting fliers around your local area. Look for ways to advertise free.

Think about it! Most people want to buy a car locally, so it's probably best to find a local niche and advertise locally around your city instead of competing with the millions of other sites just like what you've described!
