I made a video using Camtasia and then I made a web page where I could stick that video. In Dreamweaver, I told it that I wanted to insert a flash video there. (Insert >> Flash) I saved my video as a swf file. Now that the video and site is uploaded, people on dial up connections have problems with seeing the video intermittently and the voice not being in sync with the video. Is there another format or better way I can do this so the lowest common denominator can also benefit? I have Camtasia and Dreamweaver. JH
There's nothing better than swf and flv. Both load extremely fast. As for those dial up people, just provide them with a compressed .wmv link to download if you have complaints of slow streaming.
SWF is the best or you can go with realplayer.. just choice the type that can play on most computers without THEM having to download any programs ro view it.
My video loads as soon as the page loads and then it automatically starts playing. I got a friend on dial up to test it out and initially, he only heard my voice and not see the video at all. I can't zip up a file and hand it to them as that would kinda defeat the purpose of the page. Is there any other solution? How can I use realplayer with my video? JH
jetheat, you haven't told us what the bitrate is for the video clip in question. to put it another way, you can't post a 500kpbs video clip and expect dial-up users to be able to watch it... the format doesn't matter when the bitrate is wrong.
What should the bitrate be for dialup users? How do I make the video FLV? Will it be compatible for all users? JH
