Hello everyone, I was just wondering if there is a better time of the week to do a PR. My first PR is just about ready to send out I had scheduled it for Sunday but now having second thoughts about the weekend. Any input would be great. John
I don't think the Weekend would be all that good or even the end of the week. This is because I find that my sites traffic drops and I think there is also alot of other sites that gets a traffic drop. This is mainly because people normally have the weekend of work and don't visit your site during their break, people have nights out on the town, etc.
It depends entirely on your industry, the type of news, and your distribution method. If you're submitting releases to newswires mostly for link-backs, any time is fine ... especially because you're going to have a better chance of reaching small media and blog writers (who will very likely be working on weekends). If you're submitting manually to the media, you honestly should do your homework and find out the editorial calendar for each publication. If they have a deadline on Thursday for a weekly paper, you better have a release in a day or two before then ... sending it in Thursday morning won't get your news included, and it'll just annoy the reporter. The key is really in making their lives easier. Jenn
I usually suggest my customers to launch their releases on friday or monday. It's all up to the news you need to launch, its category and many other factors. Anyway these two days are the best in my experience; but in order to give you a detailed advice I should need to know exactly what's the press release about
