What is the best solution for this problem?

I have a site which is hosted under a sub domain. Now I want to move that site to a new domain. Now here lies the problem. That site is hosted on blogger so I can't do a 301 redirect. So there are 2 options for me now.

    1. Start the new site and put up a message on the old site telling that the site has moved. The old website will no longer be updated and all new contents will be at the new site. Old site will continue to receive traffic from referring sites and search engines. Old subscribers will be automatically transferred to the new site.

    2. Start the new site and put up a message on the old site telling that the site has moved. Additionally transfer the entire old site to the new site so that a new visitor will find all old contents at the new site. That will save me from linking to contents at the old site.

With Option 1, I will have to always link to the old site.

I prefer option 2, but it has the issue of duplicate contents. Will that be a problem? Can I somehow tell google to stop crawling the old site?

Please advise me what will be the best solution.

Add the old site to Google Webmaster Tools. Then request a removal of the sites pages from Google and it will be removed sooner or later.
The copy the contents to the new site and add it in GWT.

new site, wrangle the old content to make it unique, make it clear on the old site (using a javascript plugin) that the old site is gone, and they should go here...->
