A lot of people use Premiere or After Effects. Personally, I use After Effects, simply because it's what I started with.. and because it does everything I've ever needed a video editor to do.
If you've used Photoshop, it's relatively easy to understand the UI and workflow of After Effects.

I'm trying to use Camtasia Studio as well. Firstly it was terrible, but now look pretty simple and useful. It have version for PC and MAC.

If you're familiar with Adobe products, I'd go right to Adobe Premiere or Premiere Elements. Elements does an excellent job in most scenarios. You only need to shell out the money for the pro version if you're doing some serious editing.

I used to use Final Cut Pro, but I found the interface far less intuitive than Premiere.

My opinion goes for Sony Vegas for quick/small projects. It's very easy to understaind. Any non designer/video-editing guy can do funny things with that.

For more professional works, i'd go for Adobe After Effects and Premiere.
