    I prefer photoshop but if you doing a logo that is going to be used for many different applications then Illustrator might be better since you can make vector images.

    Otherwise illustrator will do the job just fine - might not be the best - but unless you are better than god - you shouldn't find it limiting

    you can use inkscape to make vector logos as well, but unlike adobe illustrator it's a free program.

    Illustrator is the best for logos- you can also make vector logos in Fireworks, but illustrator is best.

    if you use Photoshop remember to use Paths and don't rasterize it so it will maintain its vector state.

    photoshop is absolutely a good software for your logo....but you can also use paint.net is a free image editor...also very useful

    In my opinion the professional logo are created in vector, so I will say that Corel is the best tool.

    Photoshop is very limited when it comes to vector. Illustrator is the program you need.
