    But for beginners notepad ++ is best

    I would like to recommend you Notepad++. This software is very easy and is very user friendly. I f you are new to HTML and you are just a beginner then this software will help you a lot in making HTML pages.I hope that it will help you a lot.

    I you want a trial version then notepad++ is a great choice but if you want full fledged software then you should go with Adobe Dreamweaver.

    Windows "notepad" is definitely the best html editor for me, but when I first started out years ago, I also used "Arachnophilia". I just did a google search and see that it's still available, and still freeware. The benefits of it is that it highlights all the different html tags with different colors so it makes it easier to edit your code...also lines are numbered, so if your browser reports an error, you can pinpoint where you made a mistake in your code......it has some other features you'll find handy like inserting tags without having to type or copy/paste them.

    I just noticed that Arachnophilia is a java program now, so it has that bubbly annoying interface look to it, but they still have the non-java version available for download, so if you decide to go with it, google search "Arachnophilia 4.0" to find the download link.

    For beginners no doubt Notepad is best. But with time, upgradation is necessary so I will recommend to use either Kompozer or Dreamweaver. :)
