Guys, so much speculation here on what Penguin update is about! Why not consider what Google themselves say - link to wikipedia article
Did they say anything about 404 pages? Or site quality (which is such a blurred notion)?

Best strategy even after any update is to stick to quality work and use only white hat. do not use duplicate content, use only original,unique and quality content, don't be spammy.

I think after penguin update the best seo strategy is to do seo work manually like manual link building.

What tests did you made and what was the result that bring you to all those idea? Or those is what you read around the web?

And to answer to the OP question:

Since now I my opinion is that you should be more careful with the on-site optimization. The trend should be to stop build the on-site seo for G and to build for visitors. Read your content
and think if you will come back to that page ever after.

Second is link diversity or better said anchor diversity. I stop building baclinks primary for my 1 word primary kw and start build backinks for many secondary long tail kw that have my primary 1 word kw in them. EX: 1 kw: cars, try to build backlinks to toy cars, rent cars, repair cars, top 10 expensive cars,... etc. You could use adword to find this kind of long tail secondary kw, and do not go for stupid word association like water car, brick car. I think it can bring you more success if you also build some link to your website for those secondary kw, and build backlinks directly to them using the specific kw.

 

How blog posting will be consider as black hat.. Its white hat technique

I want to add this : Spamming is really not related to penguin update. but the most important in here which we all did and which made it worst is meta-tags and keyword stuffing .
Remember : No more blogger backlinks
