    There is no such thing like Best programming language. But obviously there are Best programmers. Best programmers are not inclined to a single programming language. The beauty of the good programmer is their mind which is can think and select best tool to solve the problem at hand. Programming language is just one of his tools.

    So someone should try to become a good programmer but not a good programming language user.

    Which might make it the best language for server-side coding for websites, but it can't be used for client-side coding, and it can't be used for a lot of other programming needs, like system programming, writing operating systems, neural networks, etc.

    .NET strongest in creating services and providing smooth video streaming. You can also use the code to plug into flex/flash/silverlight/mobile phone apps etc.

    The development environment blows all others out of the water as well in regard to coding. Combined with Adobe products to create the UI Visual Studio and .NET have far more advantages than any other.

    I can tell you're and open source advocate already. I'm a real programmer that has a "real" CS degree from a "real" university, worked as a programmer for a "real" aerospace for 11 years and I have "real" commercial applications on out on the common market.

    However, I don't need any qualifications to state my opinion on an open forum do I?

    However, when it comes to what I use and need, I use php and mysql.
