    I just replace my printer with whatever's cheapest at the time when the ink runs out. Ink is so expensive, and like this I've always got a new printer. Right now it's a Brother DCP-165C. Canon and HP usually also give very good value. Epson and Lexmark tend to have terrible drivers that slow your machine down.
