I also had problems with approving at Facebook Ads. About Google I didn't think even. This is much expensive for me. I tried to use CPM advertising McTraffics.com Rate was near $0.35 CPM for US and UK traffic. Really good CTR. Also I wanted to work with buysellads but theit service is so onerous for me... If you want to have excellent results then only Google!
I have found that it is much easier to get Facebook Ads approved if you are advertising for a Facebook fan page. I was having trouble getting FB ads approved, so I created a FB fan page based on my website. Then I put the website link in the Info tab (About, Description, Website). For your first Ad campaign, I would buy a FB Ad coupon. I got a $50 Ad coupon for $18.
Have you looked into adster.com. I am not referring their service necessarily, I ran into their site a while back and thought it looked interesting but I have not personally tried it out. May be worth researching.
