Define what you mean by "best", do you mean the most secure place, if so Moniker is the best

DynaDot is my favorite..site is very simple and easy to use..there aren't ads everywhere..they dont try to force you to buy anything..easy to do transfers...and they're affordable :)

GoDaddy is not bad... I usually register with iPower and then simply point to the Zallas.com hosting servers... You can't register it with them though... Too bad.

Best place to buy a domain name is directly from the owner!

Rather than register a new one from go daddy etc, scour the net for the domain you want, and approach the owner directly.

Google is very sensitive to buth the end of the domain, and the age and context of inbound. Rather than buy your cool name, buy used.

I say Namecheap. I used GoDaddy and I did not like the little add ons that they try to charge for. Namecheap is upfront with their pricing and they offer quick easy service. I had one problem (my own not theirs) and they helped me with it with in a few minutes of emailing them.

The cheapest place to buy domain names I found is www.cheaper-than-godaddy.com ($6.95) and $1.99 for .info
They have 24/7 customer support. You can build your own website and host with them. There interface is easy to use and they can promote your site on the internet. Its great because you can call them and they will help you. cheaper-than-go-daddy.com I have about 30 domains with them with zero problems.Godaddy is a great company but you get the exact same service at cheaper than godaddy.com for 2 bucks less. I hope this helps good luck

Is that we call self promotion??

I thing one should go with an established registrar in case of domains. Don't forget that registerfly episode. :D
