What is the best payment processor/autodownload package?

Hi, I'm real new here but have spent the past several hours reviewing before posting. I may have missed it but I'm looking for your help in finding the best value in a payment processing package that has the ability to pass an email back to the purchaser where they can click and download the product. It has to have some sort of limiter built in so the purchaser can't pass the link around and have his buddies d/l for free.

    Thanks in advance!

Ok, thanks! One more question. Do you know if any of the services offer a WYSIWYG interface or is there a bunch of coding one must do? I am not opposed to either way, I just need to know if I need to hire a webmaster/coder for my new business to get the payment processing service up and running. I am definitely NOT a programmer!

paypal.com, 2Checkout.com, e-junkie.com are some that I reccommend for you to start with.

Thanks much! The e-junkie site looks extremely intriguing. If I am to sell downloadable content in .pdf, .swf, and .mp3, is it possible to have an unlock code passed back to the purchaser that will change for each transaction?

If you want that, why don't you try a paid membership access website, try amember.com

    Thanks, all fantastic ideas.

I consider myself somewhat net-savvy, but I have to admit this e-commerce stuff is over my head. If you were a budding internet business guy like me (I have 14 yrs of brick and morters business experience but not internet stuff) would you hire a consultant or an employee to handle setting up and administering the (possible) membership site and e-commerce functions?

    Thanks much, guys. You're awesome!

    Thanks again, gurus!

One question I still have out there:

I consider myself somewhat net-savvy, but I have to admit some of this e-commerce stuff is over my head. (esp. coding shopping carts) If you were a budding internet business guy like me (I have 14 yrs of brick and morters business experience but not internet stuff) would you hire a consultant or an employee to handle setting up and administering the (possible) membership site and e-commerce functions?

    Thanks again.

Is there a room or rooms on this board to find membership site programmers or consultants?

No one has mentioned Google Checkout. Anyone have any experience with them they can share?

    Thanks again, pros.

I have checked out Amember.com and it seems to be a good service, but I'm leaning toward using e-junkie as my payment processor/digital download site. The only problem is e-junkie is not listed as a supported program on Amember's list of approved apps. I have posted 2 questions on the Amember forum and submitted a help ticket to Amember admins inquiring about using e-junkie with their software. So far nobody has responded and it's been several days since my first inquiry.

Frankly I'm a bit worried about using Amember since they haven't responded to my very basic question. Will they be there if I have a problem?

I just confirmed with PayPal (after 4 aggravating support calls) that some of their subscription button payments are not being processed. I first noticed the failures about 10 days ago. They said they would try to have it fixed by next week but subscriptions since the error occurred would need to be re-registered. Anyone who uses them should check to see if they are still receiving payments.

Needless to say I am looking for an alternative solution that can do recurring payments. Any suggestions?

Try checking out EC Suite as a processor, They specialize in digital content and can integrate a download manager into your payment forms so only the purchaser can access the content. They can provide licensing protection for your product as well.
