If I want to setup my online store, do you have any idea what is the best payment gateway that I need to use? Any idea? Please comments. Thanks
I highly recommend network merchants, www.nmi.com. Has outstanding API integration, and includes recurring billing at no extra charge. There's also check processing, fraud screening, and a customer vault. All the features of authorize.net at about 1/2 the price or less. I've tried / resold / setup / used just about everything out there. We use this for our own processing as well.
Currently most of the startups has PayPal as there gateway but Google checkout is also becoming more popular along with PayPal as a gateway!
I'm not surprised that most of the replies mention Paypal. Paypal is indeed a good option since its well known among Internet users and easy to follow. From what I understand (though I haven't tried it), there are multiple ways to set up Paypal as a gateway on your site so you can choose the way that's right for your business.
You could use 2checkout (2CO) and authorize.net (very well known name in merchant acconts). You could also investigate amazon payments, payleap.com, amsvisa.com, myfreemerchantaccounts.com, beanstream.com, globalcollect.com.
Paypal is not a payment gateway, they are a 3rd party processor. Same thing goes for 2checkout.com Plimus, and most of the other mentioned. Alternately, Authorize.net is a payment gateway as they do not process any transactions, they just provide a link between a merchant account and a website.
Paypal or Google Checkout are the way to go. Both have their ups and downs, and their audiences so picking either or is a good idea.
paypal is not really a merchant account, because you are not accepting credit cards directly, that being said, the paypal fees of 3-4% are often lower than if what you would pay for your own merchant account. Our fees are sometimes 5% or more... try YourPay.com for payment gateway ...
I would suggest you paypal coz its have the most user in the world after all. And paypal is more easy to integrate with online store.
