    http://ads4trade.com uses a severely modified version of punbb with a rotating text ad script custom written to work along with the user profiles.

    I find people tend to use phpBB and it's what I used on some web sites that were not commercial. But if you're a commerical web site I really recommend vbulletin as it looks a lot more professional.
